I started as a crew member of a local 1/4 mile dirt track stock car in the early sixties. From there I progressed to road racing as a marshal (corner worker) in 1966 at a little 1.9 mile track called Lyndale Farms. It is now the roadway for a housing development in Peewaukee, Wisconsin. >From there I progressed to the big time at Road America, Road Atlanta, Daytona, Ontario Motor Speedway, Brainerd International Raceway (nee Donnybrook), Blackhawk Farms Raceway, Riverside International Raceway, Watkins Glen International, Indianapolis Raceway Park, Grattan Raceway, Laguna Seca (old & new), Waterford Hills Raceway, Nelson Ledges, Mid-Ohio, Mosport, Montreal, Mexico City, Magny Cours, the Nurburgring, Portland International, Sears Point, Hallet, Heartland Park, Lime Rock Park, Charlotte in addition to numerous street courses like Long Beach, Las Vegas, San Antonio, Phoenix, Detroit, Minneapolis, Des Moines, Miami (both downtown & Tamiami Park), Dallas, Addison, Reno, Denver, Le Mans, The Bahamas and Curacao.

I have participated in 35 F1 events as a marshal in addition to Le Mans the past 2 races (at post 75bis, right before Mulsanne corner), a rallye in France, vintage in the Bahamas, F3000 in Curacao, and F1 in Canada, Mexico, France & the U.S.

I hold SCCA National Licenses in F&C (marshal), Starter & Competition ( I currently race a 944 in ITS as well as Porsche Club events. I formerly competed in IMSA's Renault Cup as well as various other SCCA classes in the 25 years I've held a competition license. I am also a past champion of the International Ice Race Association (IIRA), racing on frozen lakes in the U.S. & Canada where almost every lap is a new track.

My philosophy has been to try to add 1 new track each year. Some years have been more successful in this regard than others. This year it will be 2 with the Nurburgring 24 Hour in June (the weekend following Le Mans) & the Houston street race in October.

With all of that I'm still not the most senior member of this group as I'm only 53.
