Living about 30 miles North East of London I am lucky to be within easy reach
of three circuits and reasonable reach of six more.
As a National A Clerk of Course I spend on average 24 weekends running or
helping to run Race Meetings.
I started as a Marshal ( Corner Worker ) in 1967 and worked my first British
GP in 1968. Am a Member of BRSCC, BARC, BMRMC, OCA (Holland) and SCCA so I do
tend to get about a bit. Have worked at meetings in Germany, Belgium, France,
Holland and at Heartlands Park, Topeka, KS.
In 1999 I was invited to help at the first ever International Race Meeting in
Korea, the Korean F3 GP which was quite an experience.
I am beginning to feel my age as I remember many of the current F1 and Indy
Car drivers when they were up and coming youngsters racing such things a
Formula Fords. I can honestly say, however, that in the thirty odd years I
have been in the sport, of the thousands of drivers, workers and fans I have
met I can count on one hand those who were not thoroughly likeable people.
Motor Racing seems to attract a fantastic and wonderful group of people.
