My father started taking me to local stock car and midget races when I
was about six. I can remember seeing Duane Carter race at the old War
Memorial Stadium in Buffalo New York. Forgot about it until I saw a
copy of Road & Track when I was in high school, and the Formula 1 race
descriptions captured my imagination. Forgot about it again until I ran
across the racing section of GEnie a few years ago, and started
reminiscing with some of the others that are still in this news group. 
Been a fan of open wheel racing -CART and F1- ever since.
