Saddle Up Pardner for the 2002 Texas QSO Party
It's Not Just a Contest, It's a Year's Worth of Story Material
Hello NARS! The Texas QSO
Party (TQP) for 2002 is just around the corner. So get your gear together and
join in on the hard drivin', fast talkin', county huntin', mobile chasin' best
dang QSO party ever.

The purpose of the TQP is
to provide competition for Amateur Radio Operators to contact as many Texas
stations in as many different Texas counties as possible. And, there are 254
counties. We also want to provide county hunters the opportunity to contact
rare Texas counties during the published contest time and in accordance with
the rules of operation.
As in the past, this year's
event promises to be the best ever. Of course the Big Bend Amateur Radio Club
is chasing us (NARS) for the Club prize, so it's important to participate, and
get those logs in after the big event. Rumors also are flying about this year's
mobile operations. If you are traveling with Walter KK5LO and Alan W5UJS, you
will be on time at the Taylor Meat Market for some of those delicious
red-skinned "weenies." If on the other hand, you are traveling with
Norm K5OS and John W5PDW, there is just no telling what you'll experience! In
fact, there is another report that someone is sending out a crew to film these
two! Finally, could it be, K5ZTY TPQ mobile? Oh my! Here are the details:
